| I can't recall the exact date these pictures were taken, but I'm pretty sure it would have been sometime around 1990. The event was the annual Open Day at Rochdale Fire Station in Greater Manchester, which is also the home of the Greater Manchester Fire Service Museum, which is why there are a number of vintage vehicles on display.
The museum is still there, and has regular open days when the public can visit and see some of the vintage vehicles, and find out more about the history of the service, it's always well worth a visit if you get the chance. |
