| This was an unusual one, I was waiting near to where the railway crosses the River Irwell just south of Ramsbottom Station in the hope of getting a shot of the 'Duke of Gloucester' during the East Lancashire Railway's 'Winter Steam Event' on Saturday 24th of January, when I noticed a lot of smoke coming from the direction of the cricket ground. On wandering over to see where it was coming from I noticed that the scoreboard building was on fire, so I took a number of pictures of the blaze and its subsequent extinguishing by pumps from the Lancashire and Greater Manchester Fire Brigades. Not too many shots of the engines, as I was on the wrong side of the river, and wasn't able to get close to them, but some interesting shots of the blaze whilst it was at its peak.
